The Pattern We Can No Longer Ignore

Every time Eritrea celebrates a national holiday—Independence Day (May 24), Martyrs’ Day (June 20), Revolution Day (September 1)—I see the same cycle repeat. What should be a time of pride and reflection suddenly becomes a battlefield of misinformation, aggression, and outright attacks on innocent Eritreans.

I used to think this was just random hate from a few defectors who lost their way. But year after year, I noticed a disturbing pattern.

The media suddenly floods with "new reports" condemning Eritrea—just in time for our celebrations.

Anti-Eritrean agitators organize protests, violence, and smear campaigns right before or during our holidays.

Our peaceful festivals, attended by families, elders, and children, are attacked—not by accident, but through coordinated, well-funded efforts.

This is not just some angry opposition group venting their frustrations. This is a deliberate psychological war designed to break our morale, weaken our unity, and make us doubt our own successes.

The truth is, they don’t just hate the Eritrean government. They hate what Eritrea represents: true African independence.

And every time we gather to celebrate our victories, they panic. Because our very existence is proof that their colonial masters have failed.

1. Why Eritrea’s Strength Terrifies Our Enemies

A Nation That Refuses to Bow

Eritrea is one of the only African nations that has:

✅ No U.S. military bases.

✅ No IMF or World Bank debt.

✅ No Western-funded NGOs controlling its policies.

✅ No foreign aid dependency.

Think about that for a moment. In a continent where almost every country is enslaved to foreign interests, Eritrea stands alone, self-reliant and proud.

This terrifies:

The U.S. and EU, who rely on controlling Africa through debt and military influence.

The UN and NGOs, who cannot push their colonial-style "humanitarian" agendas on Eritrea.

Ethiopian expansionists, who still cannot accept that Eritrea is independent and will never be part of their empire.

So how do they fight us? Not on the battlefield (where they already lost), but through lies, propaganda, and direct attacks on our people.

2. The Attacks on Eritrean Festivals: Who Is Behind Them?

I cannot count how many times I have seen peaceful Eritrean celebrations turned into violent battlegrounds—NOT by Eritreans, but by outsiders who were sent to disrupt them.

Recent Attacks on Eritrean Festivals:

Germany (2023): Paid agitators (many of them Tigrayan extremists and Ethiopian asylum seekers) attacked Eritrean festival-goers, harassing elderly attendees and destroying property.

Sweden (2023): Eritrean cultural events were stormed by mobs, and instead of protecting Eritreans, Swedish authorities allowed the violence to happen.

Canada (2023): Eritrean families were harassed at community gatherings, forcing parents to shield their children from threats and abuse.

UK & US: Eritrean festivals faced repeated disruption, with anti-Eritrean agitators trying to shut down lawful celebrations.

Who Are These Attackers?

Tigrayan extremists still bitter about their military defeat, desperate to punish Eritrea for their own losses.

Eritrean defectors who are funded by Western intelligence agencies to spread division.

Western-backed activists who claim to be fighting for "human rights" but instead physically assault Eritrean elders and children.

This is where their hypocrisy is exposed: If they were truly against the Eritrean government, why are they attacking innocent Eritrean civilians?

They don’t want to fight oppression—they want to erase Eritrean identity, break our unity, and silence our history.

3. The Cowardice of Attacking Elders & Children

What kind of person attacks elderly war veterans and young children at a cultural event?

The kind of person who has no real cause to stand on.

I have seen heartbreaking images of elderly Eritrean men and women, who survived the brutal war for independence, being insulted and physically attacked at peaceful gatherings.

I have watched Eritrean children cry in fear as mobs scream insults at their families during festivals meant to celebrate their heritage.

This is not activism. This is terrorism.

And what does the so-called "international community" do? They ignore it. Because in their eyes, Eritreans are not victims—they are obstacles to their imperial control over Africa.

4. The Western Double Standard: The Real Criminals Are Protected

If these attacks happened at a U.S., British, or Ethiopian independence celebration, they would be labeled acts of terror. The world would condemn them, and the perpetrators would be arrested immediately.

But when Eritreans are attacked? The media either ignores it or blames Eritreans for their own victimization.

Western Hypocrisy at Its Finest:

The U.S. government supports Ethiopia’s war crimes but demonizes Eritrea for defending its sovereignty.

Germany allows Eritrean defectors to attack peaceful civilians but pretends to be a neutral actor.

Sweden bans Eritrean festivals while funding Ukrainian cultural events without issue.

They do not care about "justice" or "human rights." Their only goal is to destabilize Eritrea because they cannot control it.

5. How Eritreans Must Fight Back: The Path Forward

We have seen their tactics. We know their agenda. Now it’s time to counter it strategically.

--

How to Stop Their Lies & Attacks:

1. Expose Their Foreign Funding:

Eritrean opposition groups do not work for Eritrean interests—they work for Western intelligence agencies and NGOs.

We must publicly document and expose who is funding them and what their true agenda is.

2. Dominate Social Media With the Eritrean Truth:

Instead of reacting to their lies, we must flood social media with Eritrean success stories.

Use national holidays to showcase Eritrea’s achievements, history, and resilience.

3. Increase Security at Eritrean Festivals:

Eritrean communities must organize security teams to protect elders, children, and event spaces.

Any provocateurs should be documented, reported, and legally held accountable.

4. Turn National Holidays Into International Eritrean Showcases:

We must invite independent African journalists, historians, and global allies to witness Eritrean celebrations firsthand.

Shift the conversation from defending Eritrea to celebrating its resilience.

Eritrea’s Light Cannot Be Dimmed

Every attack, every smear campaign, and every cowardly act of violence against Eritrean festivals only proves one thing:

Eritrea’s independence terrifies its enemies.

They scream louder not because we are weak, but because we are strong. They attack civilians because they cannot defeat Eritrea militarily, economically, or politically.

Instead of falling into their trap, we must respond with pride, strength, and unity.

Let them try to break us—but they will fail, as they always have.

Because Eritrea is not just a country. It is an idea, a revolution, and a testament to African resilience.

And no amount of lies or violence will ever change that.
